I am restoring a #44 plow and a KBA disc. I am not sure what the surfaces of the plow and discs are to be. Are they painted a certian color or what? Anyone know?

Worked at fathers JDeere dealership shop in late 40"s,50"s & early 60"s. All the plowbottoms and all disks were painted with a blue colored type of lacquer that was somewhat opaque..It made very pretty looking moleboards when they were scoured and polished then painted with this color. It was also nice for dipping the dash and interior light bulbs in a car for soft blue lights.

I have two #44 plows, one is had levers and the other hydrolic. The hand one I think is 44a. I don't know what the other one is but both are on rubber. I do not plan to use them but rather show at the fair etc. The kba disc has wheels. I will sandblast before I paint but have never been clear what the surfaces of the actual plow and discs should be

Are you going to use the plow? If so once the moleboards have taken a shine clear coat them. I remember when we jot a new KB disk but I do not remember what color the blades were but I don't think they were green.
