i just purchased a 9n ttactor and put a new battery in it, it still has the 6 volt battery in it. but it seams to turn over real slow as if you had a dead battery, any help would be apprciated. also do these tractors have a postive ground system.

If your tractor is all original, the starter solenoid is located under the battery. Follow the starter cable up, you will find it then. It is a bear to take out! Once out take apart and clean. There is a big washer that makes the electrical contact. Most of these get dirty, coroded, etc. creating a bad contact surface. Place the washer against the inside contacts to make sure you got as much contact surface as possible before reassembly. I had to do this to my '47 2n about 10 years ago and haven't had a failure yet.

Yep + ground systems. As far as it turning over slow you probably need new battery cables. If you replace the cables don't use any thing but 0 or 00 cables as the auto type are way to small and will not work for long if at all. Also the starter maybe getting weak.
