I have an old combine with masking tape on the windows.The stuff must have been there for years.Sun dried and petrified.The paper can be torn away but the remaining old adhesive is almost part of the glass.The best blade or scraper wil not remove this stuff. I have not yet found a solvent to soften the baked on glue.Can anyone help me with this problem.

Have you tried plain old rubbing alcohol? Use liberal amounts, soak a rag to the point it is dripping and start rubbing, not hard, just keep going over it over and over, should eventually just disolve.
