In order to get to the outer seal you have to remove the sweat collor that holds the outer bearing in place. That is removed by splitting the collar with a chisel. Getting the old collar off is the easy part. Getting the new one on is very difficult as the new collar has to be heated and then pressed on the axle shaft. That is why someone came up with a product called Sure-Seals. They go on the inside and prevent oil getting on the brakes without having to remove the axle collar. One thing you have to do however is grease the outer bearing with a needle greaser because it will no longer be lubricated from the rear axle.
