I own a 1992 Ford 3930. While I was changing the antifreeze smoke stared coming from around the battery. When I looked under the battery I saw a small fire. After I pulled out the tray and unhooked the battery I noticed a small rubber sensor that sits under the battery that had gone up in smoke. Is this a temp. sensor? The key was off at the time of the incident. Did the draining of the coolent ground out the sensor? Just trying to figure out what went wrong. The connector and wiring were not harmed at all.
