What is the best thing to use for polishing a motorcycle exhaust once you have removed the heat proof paint? (and rust) I want a mirror like finish if possible without any trace of scratches from sandpaper etc.....

Sounds to me like you should either repaint your exhaust,it will come out smooth.Or there is also Jet-Hot Coating.Which is a great way to go.I have done both.I ran Stove paint on my Harleys for years.You sure cannot beat the price, and you can redo them every year

I would suggest looking into getting it chromed, however this can be somewhat expensive. But will give you your "mirror-like" finish and should cover up any minor scratches.
