Went out to use my super 55 oliver the other day and the PTO lever won"t move! pto shaft can turn about half a turn and then stops. checked the lower end fluid and it was more than a qrt low. which I am guessing led to this problem. Anyone ever have this problem? what was wrong? hopefully an easy fix

The transmission/rear end holds 5 gallons of 90wt oil so 1 qt is not causing it. Check the PTO through the inspection plate, if the brass release ring is broken the engaging fork will be damaged also. Suggest getting a manual it's a must. How did you dertermine i qt low if you opened the filler with a dip stick thats the hydraulic tank 5-9 qts. the front filler is the trans/rearend lub, oil is poured till it runs out the plug on the right rear at the PTO.

There is a little inspection plate square with 4 bolts on the underside. It exposes your pto clutch. I wonder if you went in there and backed off on the tigtening nut and tehn freed some of that up and then retighten it down to I believe 35lbs of pressure on the handle. Just a thought. I had mine apart once and that is all I can think of trying other than splitting it as per the manual. If you think its in the tranny end, you are likely lifting the hydraulic/tranny cover off to see that inside. Never been there.

There is nothing under the hydraulic unit except the shaft. everything is in the center section. My guess, one of the little teeth off thePTO cluch broke and is wedged inside between the steel plates. Do remove the inspection cover. Questions?
