looking for info on removing injector pump,
looking for info on removing pistons from cylinders.
here is a long story for you (sorry)
I have two ferguson 20 tractors. One tractor had a piston break in no.4 cylinder, but otherwise it was a good tractor. Piston disentegrated and burst through liner and cylinder wall (into water jacket-water in sump). (head still ok)
Second tractor has been lying outside for 10 years. Before it retired it was very smokey (blue) and lacked power, no compression(???), and was hard to start, used a LOT of oil, and generally uncared for by the previous owner.
So I am trying to get 2nd tractor to start by using some of the better parts of the 1st engine. 1st tractor still has 3 good pistons, con rods, crank, I HAVE to swap injector pumps, and should probably swap 3 pistons. I have the heads off already, and sumps. 2nd block... is not cracked but is very worn. .....Big end bearings are rattling on crank .....So can you tell me ....
1)how to remove injector pump without disturbing timing.?
2) how to remove and re-fit pistons from liners ?(head and sump already off)
Thanks,
Peter.
