I was using the tractor and shut it off. Heard a loud electrical click. Now it wont turn over. Replaced the ignition coil and solenoid. Turned it over a couple seconds and then nothing. Bypassing the pushbutton start wire the the negative terminal and get a click from the solenoid but starter wont turn over. Please help.

The ignition coil has nothing to do with the starter being able to crank the engine.

First, be sure the ignition switch is "OFF" (for safety), and then put it in 4TH gear and rock the tractor back and forth vigorously by grasping the top of a rear tire.

The engine should rotate back and forth... you can watch the fan blades.

The point of doing this is to verify that the starter drive ("Bendix") gear is not jammed against the flywheel's ring gear, as happens from time to time.

If the engine is free, try the starter again. If it still does not work, be SURE the battery is fully charged and EVERY connection in the battery cable circuit is CLEAN BRIGHT AND TIGHT!

If that doen't help, the starter itself may have failed.
