I just bought some Omni MP170 epoxy primer and MAE topcoat for my Super A per advice gleaned from this site. Salesman said I HAVE to paint the topcoat right after the primer flashes off to avoid having to sand the primer. Is this correct? I was planning to primer the tractor one day then topcoat as time allowed. Thanks,
Muley

I don't particularly like being blunt, but your salesman doesn't have a clue as to what MP170 is much less how to use it. Instructions are in the link. They are correct as I have used it many times. You have 3 days to topcoat it before you have to scuff it and reapply. Dries in 15 minutes at 70 degrees. On a tractor chassis, I usually topcoat the next day. On small parts, sometimes within a half hour. You CAN topcoat as soon as it flashes, some people claim better adhesion that way, but it is not essential.
