I just got a mott hammer knife mower. It is a push
typ model # 18A. I was wondering wat it was used for and if there is different blades that can be used to make it a thatcher

I also have one of these mowers. They were manufactured in the early to maybe mid 50's and I have never heard of a mulch attachmwent for them, nor any other attachments. Mine has a Clinton engine powering it. They are real bears to crank, as you have to turn the whole knife drum when you pull the rope. It needs a centrifugal clutch on the drive belt pulley. Mine is an all aluminum housing. Mott Mfg. was bought by Alamo Mfg. Co. I also have a 5'model that I use with a JD 650 compact tractor to mow my grass with. You see them advertised occasionally for sale, though not too often. You either love or hate these mowers, there seems to be no in between. Good mowers if you use them right,just rough when you go to buying blades for them. I am going on 10 years on my blades on the 5'one. Just sharpen them occasionally, and reverse them on the drum. i have a 4' tow behind model. powered by an 8 hp
b&s. it has an idler pulley to disengage the 105 blades for starting. i have sharpened the blades
several times and am looking to buy new ones. but where?

i also have a t-38 mott hammer knife.if you have not found blades for it go to montage.com they have blades that will work.in the syracuse,n.y.area i have found blades at white's tractor supply.if you have heard of a mott 18-a push style then maybe you can help me find blades for it

just recieved a mott 6" but in parts w/o pic. got it all worked out except the bottom wheels.one big one to go to mower,a double belt wheel to go to same shaft,then to double small belts to tractor
small wheel must fit on this small shaft by removing key?can not figure out how to get small wheel on other end anyone have a pic of just the rear bottom pulley set up? or how to get small wheel onto shaft? (love trying to describe this stuff)
