DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY TIPS FOR REMOVING "SUPER HARD CARBON" FROM PISTON GROOVES?

If you don't have a ring groove cleaner then you can use a broken ring.Be sure that you don't use the broken end.Sometimes they don't break straight across and can gouge the groove.Also be sure to set the stop(if yours have a stop) on the ring groove cleaner so you don't go too deep.It is easy to do and it will compromise the itegrity of the piston if you go too deep.Depending upon the hardness of the carbon sometimes it helps to soak the pistons in mineral spitits for a while to soften up the carbon.A dentist's chisel is a nice tool to use the finish the job if you can talk your dentist out of an old one.

Should be no problem with a ring groove cleaner. Have you tried one?
