I have put three different new batteries on it and all went dead. Does anyone know what might be causing this. Thanks Jerry

A bad isolation diode could be the problem allowing the current to flow both ways.

This is a Kohler engine, no isolation diode, outside of diodes in voltage regulator, which, as I posted earlier, is probably cut off from the battery when the ignition switch is shut "off".

Along with the advice from Bob- consider this- you have a leak somewhere. How long does it take for the battery to become dead? Several days? Took me almost a year to find the leak on a 3020 tractor. If I used it every few days it was ok, but a week or so, it was dead. Turned out to be a worn spot in the battery cable under the dash. Noticed a small spark one night while starting it- the cable cover was worn a bit and was shorting out to ground.

If it goes dead while running, your charging system isn't working.

If it goes dead while sitting shut off, I would look for a defective or incorrect ignition switch. Also, if it goes dead while sitting, I would try unhooking the voltage regulator upon shutdown, and see if it still goes dead. It is possible, though that the regulator is disconnected from the battery when the ignition switch is shut "OFF", providing the switch is working properly.
