Stuck Spark Plug

I "rescued" an old Wisconsin ACN, about a'57 from what I can find, and I have two things that are keeping me from a restoration. First, the spark plug is "Frozen" in the head. It's an old Autolite that takes a 7/8" socket. I pulled as hard as I dared to, not wanting to tear out the threads in the head. I pulled the head off and clamped the plug in a vise and have been filling up the plug with Liquid Wrench for a week or so thinking sooner or later it has to free up. Second, one of the head bolts (5/16 x 1-1/2) wrung off. It wrung level with the top of the head so I've got about 3/8" sticking up above the cylinder to get a hold of. Vise grips won't budge it.
Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? I'm new to old engines and need all the help I can get when it comes to working with rusted and siezed parts.

Use an impact wrench on a low torque setting, both reverse and forward. The hammering it gives will break things free that you would twist off with a hand wrench.

I would also try some heat. A propane torch is fine. Remove whatever chemical you have on the plug. Heat the plug pretty hot, getting the head hot too. Not too hot, you might warp the head. turn the torch off and as it begins to cool down apply a little of the liquid wrench or what ever you have that is thin in viscosity. As the parts cool the liquid will be pulled into the threads. I would do this from both sides of the work.

Dam up some JB Blaster and let it sit for a day or two taping lightly on the plug and stud every time you get the chance. Have patience and give the penetrant time to work. I have faced these same kind of problems many times in the past. Let me know how you make out.

1st: Congrats. on the rescue. 2nd. according to this board and my experience, has been the use of Marvel Mystery Oil, any NAPA store. Pour it on and let it do the work. It took forty years for it to get stuck, give it a little time to unstick. Watch this board someone will be along by and by with more info.
