I have kohler engine that that has just recently started having gas come out of the exhaust and carb bowl when started. There is no sign of gas entering into the oil nor do I have a solenoid for fuel shutoff. When the tractor sits for about 8 hours the carb fills with gas. The engine will start and smoke for about 20 seconds with the gas coming out. I have replace the needle and still no difference. The float has no adjustment. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thank you

I would guess that you are on the right track. However the needle valve itself may not be the problem. Is the needle valve seat replaceable on this carb? If it is, it should probably be replaced. In addition, a small piece of debris could be lodged in the needle valve area. Make sure that your float is moving freely and does not have a hole in it. Lastly, when I work on this type of carb and replace the needle valve, I use a small hand pump with a pressure guage to check the seal of the needle valve. I would highly recommend you get one of these as it is the only way I know to check the seal before you reasseble the carb. Mine was made by Walbro (2 cycle carbs) and I think cost under $25. Good luck.
