No International 2424 Hydraulic Pressure

My International 2424 Loader/Backhoe was down for repairs, and when put back together, the hydraulics will not come back. New fluid added to correct level, and diverter valve checked and cleaned [I was advised that dirt can cause it to stick and prevent fluid from circulating]. The various backhoe components move just a bit, and very hesitantly. Suggestions, please?

Does you 2424 have a front crank mounted pump for the bucket and hoe ? Sort of sounds like it is sucking air or the pump is not primed. Does you rig have a 3 point liftbox under the seat ? If so does it work ?

Yes, front-mounted pump shaft-driven from crankshaft.
No, there are no lift arms. The backhoe mounting would seem to have obviated them.
The transmission-reardrive reservoir holds the "hydraulic" fluid which bathes everything, including the hydraulic system.

I would try pulling the suction line loose from the front pump and filling with Hytran or UTF, to try to prime the pump. There is a long big suction line there. Also there might be a screen on the tranny end of your suction line that might be haired over.
