Ive seen many pic's of other f-20's and some of them the rims are painted red now mine was little differnt below all of the greese the paint was silver i was just wanderin how they were painted the if it helps the serial # is, FA 114406 now im pretty sure it is a '39 but if any info bout the year will also help thanks,

If you posted your serial number right, your tractor is a 38 according to the serial number chart under research and info to the left of your screen on this site. The tractor you have was originally painted red from factory considering it a 38. As far as rims, I'm not sure if they were red from factory. I painted my rims silver on my red F-20. I have the caste iron center with bolt on rims (not consistant with 36 but not sure). I am just guessing that these wheels were originally that way and available on later tractors, and also that the spoked wheel's with non/bolted rims or steel wheel's were all red. The pre Nov. 1936 F-20's were originally, tractor gray and wheel's red. Mine is an after Nov. 1936 making it one of the earliest red tractors. If you have bolted rims, I would paint them silver anyways. It will look better even if wrong. Just my 2 cents.

prevoius owner probably stuck some paint on it to stop rust
