I have this 520 John Deere the steering wheel needs to be refinished but I'm having trouble remove it. The acorn nut is froze tight. What is the best methods of doing this.

If it's not the Black Dash kind with the plastic wheel, heat is the best way. Even a strong propane flame will help. I have also ued an impact wrench in such cases, as the vibrations and multiple impacts will help to loosen it.

Heat if you have a way to get it really hot, then let it cool and it should brake loose. Other wise oil and let it set penatrating that is, just keep putting some on over a couple of day. Hope this helps

Get you some PB Blaster at Wally World and hit it with that, then go the air wrench if you have one. I would go with a low setting on the air wrench at first to rattle the nut a little then spray again with PB Blaster, soak awhile then use a little higher setting on your air wrench. Should come on loose, if not then go the heat route.
