valve guides

I am rebuilding a case model c. I'm not sure if i should replace the guides or not. they seem to be worn at both ends, about .010 larger then in the center of the guide. at what point should they be replaced? Any info would be helpful
thank you

I DONT Agree with jerry on the kurling a bronze sleeve or knew guide is much better: kurling is a used car lot repair

Valve guide clearence minimum is .0025 and

worn limit is .0055 (clearance between stem

and guide).

C and D engines have replacable guides ,

drive them out and drive in a new set .

AT this stage of wear you will need to do something to the guides. Replace them or line them with bronze guide liners.

If it was me ( I have the tools) I would knurl the guides to the original size. This would re-establish the correct size and align the walls with the original center line of the guide. Run the boring bar through the guides to open them up to recieve the liners. Install the liners, spiral to a tight fit within the guide and then size each guide to fit a particular valve stem. This will last for years.
