I have a set of rear tractor tires that some genius got overspray on them when the tractor was painted. The tires are also very dried out and I was wondering if there is a trick or something that could remove the paint and something I could put on them to bring the black color back out. By the way the genius was me. I put grease around the sidewall but I had more overspray than I intended on having. Thanks a bunch Jake

Jake,
Any type solvent, like laquer thinner, will take off the paint. I found a product called Re-New, specifically made for weathered rubber. It works great and is not expensive. Once your tires are clean and dry, brush or spray this stuff on. It softens the rubber and makes them look like new. I got it at my local auto parts store. Two applications work better than one heavy one.

Put a little laq thinner on a rag and carefully work it around, refold rag and do again, works great but dont get any on wheel, or you'll get a second chance at masking tires off.

I would take a can of flat black spray paint mask the rim off and spray the tire. It will make it look like new. You can also use brush panit for this and it does a nice job also. If you want to try to remove the paint try meneral spirits.
