You'll need to practice on some similar materials, threaded brass and cast. In industrial settings we used a product called "silicon release spray". I have had sucess with silicon lube spray. The really hard dart, you cannot get the silicon spray on the cast you want the JB to adhere to. Spray the threaded brass, allow the carriers and propellants to vaporize off. Assemble the parts, fill in with JB. If done correctly, after curing, the brass will thread out, and the JB will have conformed to the threads.

The other option, would be to JB the cast minus the threaded brass, then drill and tap.

That is why I originally tried the "Silicon Release Spray" It worked, the real trick is to keep the cast free of silicon. By all means if possible pratice on other materials first.

Remember if it doesn't release the seat, you are still no worse off than before.

As for the Jb Weld holding up to gasoline, the product I used was called "Devcon". I've used it in application exposed to fuels(gas and diesel), and crank case oils(timing chain tensioner screw hole rebuild).
