I have Wheel Horse Garden Tractor that orginally had a 3 1/2 hp engine. All I know is that it is very old (maybe 1960s) and I would like to know who made the transmission and if any repair manuals exist today. I need to repair the transmission if possible for a school project. (I'm 15)

the rear is the predicessor of the tecumsah rear used today yet if you can find a model number and/or give me a detailed description of the gear box, the engine location, and the style of hood i can tell you anything you need to know and maybe even some illustrations of it disasembled.

i'd suggest you repost your message on the garden tractor board. there is a guy named william that hangs there that knows about :horses" there is also wheelhorsebarn.com that has Q&A and classified forums that he frequents he gives excellant advice
