Stuck md

i just purchased a md farmall that is stuck. i have my own thoughts on trying to get it free without pulling the head off but thought id see what you guys would do. like dumping something in the spark plug holes for example . thanks for any help

Given the cost and availability of decent heads for that tractor, I would pull the head instead of trying to cut corners. Of course if you already know how to do it without, go ahead.

yea rick, i agree in fact i dont think it will need a head even. it had a complete engine overhaul 3 years ago and was run 2 times after the overhaul and then let set. i pulled the valve cover and there are no stuck valves so im thinking i will pull the head and free it up and just need a head gasket. i was just wondering what every body uses to pore into the cilinders just because ive heard so many different things people use and is kinda interesting what people dump into engines to free them up lol.and again thatnks for the feed back. On a stuck ford motor that was/is thought to be good I used marvel mystery oil and a leverage arm (4ft)bolted to the crank with a bucket of rocks on the end. Motor was out of truck. I put the motor out in the sun and the next time I looked at it the rocks were on the ground. In my mind the heat from sun on block and marvel mystery oil helped free up the pistons. I figure the crank rotated less than 45 degrees - now I'll take the thing apart and see what the cylinder walls look like. My intention was just to free up enough so I can take it apart. If I could'nt get it unsiezed it was going to the scrap pile.

I have An MD that was stuck when I got it. I used Marvel mystery oil and some stuff called Kroil. Ifilled the spark plug holes then shined a flashlite in there to see what it looked like. After a few weeks i jacked up the moter under one of the rod caps .
