Starter switch just stopped working. It worked one min. and not the next. The starter seems ok, I can jump from the battery to the starter to get it going. What should I check?

Indy, got the same problem('51 8N), but we lift the wire up with left index finger while pushing down on the switch with left thumb... been that way for years, kinda an anti-theft device! The price is right....Give it a try?

If you have the starter switch that sits in front of the gear shift, it could be that the switch coupling between the gear shift and the button is not in line, or broken. Taking the top off will allow you to get to the switch and have a look.
