Restoring 2 IH H's

I bought 2 H's a couple of years ago with the intent of getting them running. I now want to either get these things running or sell them.

I think I want to try to get them running before I do any major overhaul if necessary. Both have been convereted to 12 volt systems. One has gen/reg electrical system. Other has mag system with an alternator.

I want to try to start on the tractor with the mag system. However, I am lost relative to the wiring scheme. The wiring was loose when I got this treasure and I need to figure out the wiring for it. The button switch only has one terminal.

This is my first attempt at a restoration project and I am begining to think I bit off more than I can chew. Any help would be appreciated.

BobM has cocered this alot on the Farmall board. He's done some excellent wiring diagrams. One of these should do you fine. BTW the Farmall M and H are wired the same. Iused these, and pictures from The Red to get my M charging, it's a magneto.

Remember, if you just to hear them run, all you need is ignition, and you can even hotwire the coil, to run them to see what condition they are in, John in Ne.

The wire from button switch to mag. is a ground cut out. It grounds out the mag to shut it off. You could use a screw driver to do the same thing on the mag.

Try the archives at left. There you can find many different wiring diagrams, certainly you'll be able to find one for a mag. Bob M posted most of these, he is very knowledgeable with electrical stuff...
