Tractor only idles

Here are some things that you can do based on prior suggestions:

* The notorious "make sure the float is set correctly" as specified by your carb. spec's?

* Is your fuel adjusting needle turned @ least 1.5 to two turns open from the shut position? Is your idle adjusting needle set about 1 to 1.5 turns from the closed position?

* Have you opened your carb's drain cock to see if you get @ least 30 seconds of steady fuel? If not, first check @ gas tank, clean fuel bowl/screen, fuel line, carb inlet valve/screen, etc.

* Do you have new, clean fuel? Use it wisely with today's prices !!

* When rebuilding the carb, did you use a solvent/soaking cleaner? If so, did you remove the main jets and other brass orifices? Did you blow-out and clean all the air-passages and air bleeds? Did you take out the packings in the throttle and fuel adjusting valve? If you left these in and soak the carb., these can dissolve and the smaller pieces can get into your air-passages.

TwinCreek sounds like he took it a step beyond adjusting the idle screw...sounds like a good possibility.

Make sure your screws between the upper body and lower bowl is tight, make sure your clamps on the carb and intake are tight too.

Have you checked your plugs to see if they are real dirty, if so, gently file them, re-gap and try again. I have sometimes gone just beyond idling and the engine runs horribly, thinking it was a bad fuel or a fuel issue, later to know the spark plugs were real dirty due to minimal usage and a lot of idling.
