Some one posted a link for a tool company that sold a shim punch. I thought I bookmarked, but I can't find it. If you know where to get one please let me know.

Harbor freight has one similar to the one you described. Listed under "punches" or item 6770-5GV-A. Price $15.99.

I bought one of these from harbor freight to cut holes in gasket material to ease gasket making. It has one handle and 15-16 different diameter cutters. I am very pleased with it, I don't know if it is the exact one you're mentioning until I go look, but a fine tool with a spring loaded plunger/center pin. The company I work for bought a cutter from SNAP-ON and was a piece of junk compared to this Harbor Freight one, I even showed it to the Snap-on dealer, he also agreed it was better than the one he sold. But was actually a Blue Point name on it which means Snap-on just sells it and doesn't manufacture it themselves. I am a true mechanic and have $25,000 worth of tools(snap-on, mac, cornwell) and this harbor freight tool fits right in. chris

The punch I saw posted before was round with the different holes layed out around the tool. It was only about $20 if I recall. Didn't really want to spend $$$$$ if I don't have to.
