Third gear Farmall H

I was wondering, is it a big job to change the 3rd gear on a Farmall H, or is it a rather easy one after noon fix. Thank you.

The tractor is probably going to have to be split to get the shaft out that the gear is on. When you have the top cover off you should check the rest of the gears and bearings over. I was only planning on replacing 5th gear in mine but I found more heavily worn gears and a bearing out when i got it tore apart.
