My Massey 135 is leaking fuel from the throttle and shutoff valves (on top of the injector pump)Fuel leaks over front areas of the engine. Is there a simple way to correct this without removal/replacement of the pump?

Bill: I had the same problem on my massy 354"perkins in my combine you have to be real carefull how you CAREFULLY take it apart like the other fellow sez there things that have to be hooked back up right But I had no problem BOTH times, the first time I changed the "O" ring on the throttle shaft,
well during harvest the shut off shaft started to leak so I had to fix that one, also mine were "O" rings that I had in the shop so the cost was "0" took bout' 1 hour the first time 1/2 the second luck Geo

Greg is right about the cover on the pump. But there is more to it than just that gasket leaking. I had the same problem with my 135 and thought a gasket would solve it. It kept the cover from leaking but caused everything else on the pump to spew. Fuel is stored in under that cover for quick starting. Once I stopped that leak, that increased the pressure in the pump. Thats when the rest of the pump began to drool. $800 later and the new pump works great.

That should have a CAV Simms pump on it. This is a common problem with these pumps. There are seals available to reseal the top cover. If you decide to do it yourself, there is a spring and other various hardware hooked to the top cover and the inside of the pump that can be inadvertently stretched, or dropped inside the pump housing, or lost, or hooked back up improperly, etc., etc., I advise people to have a fuel shop do this, or have someone experienced with this repair do it for you. Doesn't take long. Good luck.
