9N 1949 Ford Tractor

Hydraulics quit working

I have a 1940 9N Ford that runs like a top. I have had it for many years. Yesterday I was grading my road with a box scraper and the hydraulic system quit working. The fluid was okay but the lift was just not working. Before I call in a repairman, what should I check? Should I drain the fluid and replace it and try again? Is there something I can clean? I need some advice. Thank you.

By the way, I meant 9N 1940, not 1949. I do know better, just hit the wrong key I guess.
