Stuck Diesels verses Gas

Always a risk freeing a stuck engine, but would
a stuck diesel be even less practical to consider?
Any at home clean-up for the injector tips/pump,
or is this less adequate? Sitting a decade or more. Continental HD260. Figured on kerosene in
the cylinders two weeks, then attempt to turn. Purchase or avoid?

If you have it close to a water heater, connect the drain on the water heater to the block and let it run thru the block for 3 hrs and get it good and warm. Put diesel fuel or other thin lubes in the cylinders. Then try to turn it.
I've loosened several auto engines this way. Good luck.

I have never done a stuck diesel, but you might want to try just shots of a penetrant rather than pouring a liquid into it. If all the liquid doesn't drain down, it could hydraulic lock when you try to turn it over. Best case then is it quits moving, worst case is bend a rod. If you can use a suction gun to get the fluid out, that ought to work OK.

I don't know about your particular Continental, but they don't make Industrial Continentals any more, just aircraft engines. When you can find parts, if you can find parts, they will usually be extra expensive. I'm rebuilding the F163 in my forklift, and one timing gear is over $160.00, the other 2 are $60.00 each. You should look to see if you can get parts you think may be needed, and how much they will cost to consider whether you want to work with it. You may be able to get Diesel injectors professionally rebuilt or exchanged.
