What does everyone think of Marvels Mystery Oil? is it any good or is it running on it's reputation like alot of other products from years past? If it worked I would like to know what you used it for and for how long.

Mostly kero with other solvents plus a nice peppermint scent.

Works to ungum fuel sytem.

Use as directed, will cause smoke if overused.

Dont put it down cylinders like some advise, crud it loosens can cause a clog downstream.

Hi,
I used it in an AC-CA that wanted to plug foul all the time under heavy load. MMO solved the problem.
Today, I use Hydrotex additives in all my oils and the fuel for my Ford 3000. Less down time.
Worth the investment.

I used it to remove rusty ubolts and hubs on my Super 55. Works great. I like the smell of it. Liguid Wrench penetrating oil gives me a headache when I smell that stuff. There was a tall tale going around of the fellow who had a rusty nut frozen on a bolt. Put the bolt head in the vise, put on a few drops of Marvel Mystery Oil on the nut. He then went to bed and in the morning when he returned the nut was laying on the floor. :P

I added it to the gas and oil in my Co-op E-2 after I got it running and I have to believe it runs better with it.

It was originaly used by GMC truck factories in the 20's and 30's to dissolve gum and varnish deposits in Marvel-Schebler carbs when they came in for rebuilds or were not running right. Nobody knew the contents of the oil,so it was a "Mystery" as to how it worked,so the GMC workers dubbed it"Marvel {Schebler} Mystery Oil"and the name stuck or unstuck if you please.;^} BillJ

I know some people swear by it religiously. I have used it some and like it fine. It's not just a name, it seems to be the real deal.

I put it in the gas or diesel feul when I add to the tank, bought a Case Sc that if sat for more than a month valve would stick, started adding this to oil and it never sticks anymore, even after sitting for months.

Makes a great lube for air tools. A few drops in the inlet works good. My 25 yr. old CP 734 impact has the same power as new. It would also be one of my first choices for soaking a stuck engine I was trying to loosen. Doc.

I had a stuck engine. I soaked it loose with mystery oil in about 6 months or so. I started by checking every other day , then every week, then I just left it alone for a couple of months, the next thing I knew it was loose! Be patient.

When tapping in cast iron to put in thread inserts, the Marvel works well as a tap lubricant. Makes it turn much easier. The stuff smells as if it has kerosene in it, but obviously has other things also.
