In rebuilding eng. I discover a hair line crack in the web between each of 2 cylinders. In the casting not the cylinder liner. How bad is this? And what do I do about it? I would think that a new gasket would would seal this off. If not what would seal it? I was wondering about forcing some copper gasget compound into it. Or maybe taking a dremel and cutting a small grove and then filling it with JB weld. Sure would appreciate any help with this. I would guess that this is not to rare a problem. thanks.

This is quite common and is not really a problem; the gasket will seal it off.

Quite a regular question, I saw one on a slant six Dodge machine, the gasket took care of it with no Leakage. That was eith 150K when I junked the car and it had at least 200K when I got it.
