I am restoring a "M". Well on the body of the tractor the metal is pitted. I thought of using some bondo. Is there something else should use?

We use to use what is called feather fill and ya mixed up a small batch and Sprayed it on let it harden up and sand down and repeat . You just have to make sure that ya really clean out the spray gun after each use . usually three times would get the job down along with several coats of primer .

Body filler or equivalent. I sometimes use JB weld on places such as the platform which get a lot of foot traffic. On sheet metal, body filler followed by the surfacer mentioned below.

you can try a product call "icing" it is pretty much almost a liguid body filler, about like pudding, use it just like body filler, but its used as a glaze coat after all the rough filler coats. kind of like the old lacquer spot putty, your local body shop supply store will have it, or napa.

About all you can do with that is spend a LOT of time with sandable primer. Filling and sanding,filling and sanding..... .

I used a primer that filled almost all of the pits on the cast. It was a heavy build primer costing about 28$ a quart. Saved a lot of hand work. Got it at car quest. Also used on the sheet metal terrific results. Henry
