My 50 just came home disassembled. Where should I start? Should I paint some as I go and touch up at the end. Should I start on the wiring harness yet. Is there anything that definitely be done first? The rear end (with tranny) is completely intact with the only thing left to remove being the floor pan giving fits to the previous owner. I don't want to have to take stuff back apart because I jumped the gun. I've already decided that it would be easier to put the engine in before I attach the frame or would it. Just looking for advice.

I take it that this is a JD 50,and you've bought it from someone whose taken it completely apart.

Now your not sure where to start.

Well,start with the largest piece first,the transmission and diff assembly.If the previous owner has done it over,then clean it up,prime it and paint it if you choose.

Then do what I do,start from the back,and work your way forward,one piece at a time.

If the transmission needs work,set everything else aside and forget about it for a moment,take the diff apart and do whatever work is necessary.Then reassemble it.

Its not difficult,just don't get bogged down in your projects.Focus on the rear end first.
