I have some great luck with the product PB blaster on all my stuck bolts and parts. Just spay on and let soak for a few min and they come apart easily. I buy it by the gallon and it is worth every penny I payed for it. You can find it at many auto parts supply and tractor supply. I have used this on a 49 john deere manifold and the bolts came out with little effort.

Hey there;
Everyone has thier own opinion, what has worked
for me is liquid wrench, squirt some on let it soak a while, then "rap" on the end of bolt or nut,not the side. Let it soak a little longer.
then TIGHTEN a little, before trying to loosen,
has worked for me for over 50 yrs. Bob
God Bless

I read on another forum here that a test was done by some group and they found that the best thing found out of everything they tested was a 1:1 Mix of Auto Transmission Fluid and Acetone. In the aircraft industry there is a product called Mouse Milk that works awesome but is very expensive. There is an inspector at work that swears by Peroxide as well!

I have some Knocker Loose and it reminds me of Aero Kroil in color and smell. Pretty good stuff. But to this day I have yet to find anything better than Sea Foam. I cannot remember anything eles from the can but I get it at Bumper-to-Bummper Auto Parts.

I can't say I've used PB Blaster, but no penetrant is going to work if it can't penetrate into the threads in the first place. So pipe threads, spark plugs or anything else that is tightly sealed won't benefit from a penetrant.

Heat works all the time on anything. If I think a fastener is going to be reluctant, out comes the "hot wrench". Everything from tiny screws stuck in aluminum castings to big bolts and plugs in cast iron.

At age 70 and working with rusty junk all my adult life, I have to agree with the statements below. I have bought a ton of the different stuff. I seem to still buy the stuff with great hope but I never have the two weeks or so that others on different boards say to wait. Heat is what I try first if a reasonable force does not work. Next is a drill if I don't get the heat right. I find with having employees for over thirty years that reasonable force only comes for some after several years. Others catch on quicker. If yall don't understand that, well your probly going to break bolts and things for a while with or with out the mystery juices.

Yeah, it certainly feels good to spray a rusty bolt and seems at least - it can't hurt to try. And, that's about all it does - it doesn't hurt anything except maybe your wallet.

I've been turning wrenches for 40 years and have not yet ever found any of the "rust busters" to do anything but lube a little. I've tested many times - including PB Blaster. I'l get a bunch of nuts and bolts all the same vintage and all rusted the same. Spray some and not others. Either they all break, or - if they do come off - the ones that I sprayed come off a little easier, that's all.

Rusted is rusted and the rest is BS and marketing hype. If you've got a rusty nut that came out with PB Blaster, then it would of come out anyway.

Yeah, it's just my opinion, but I worked at three Deere dealerships plus ran my own shop for a long time and work on a lot of rusty and salt-eaten equipment. I wish there really was a "rust buster" - but there is not.

And yeah, I still use it -it's an mental addiction. It never works but I'm always hoping it might help a little. Kind of like cigarette smoking. They taste like crap and you always sorta thing the next one might taste good. At least, I quit smoking 20 years ago. with rust-busters - I still have some around. At least with the WD40 - it doesn't eat rust but does make a good thin lubricant. It was originally created to disperse water and does that pretty well too.

I agree, PB Blaster is great, works excellent. The only thing I don't like about it is that it smells very bad, but yes, it works great and quickly loosens rusted parts. I use it to soak stuck engines too. It works very well.

I have never had much success with any product, including PB Blaster. If a bolt is really rusted in, no chemical product will help.

I have tried virtually every product sold for this purpose (PB Blaster included), but the class of the league was casually suggested by the local brake shop elder when I complained to him one day about my tractor's stuck clutch pressure plate. Brake fluid will get to and eat through any rust that can be eaten through.

You summarized it--"any rust that can be eaten through". Penetrants may help remove bolts that will come out anyway, and some that are borderine. But if they are really rusted in, heat or a drill is the only thing that works.
