I make three wedges out of lathe tool bits and they worked pretty good on my JD "G". Used them along with a puller. Be sure to keep the axel wet. Might work..... ..... ...rw

I found that heating just one little strip of the hub (above the expansion type holes) and then carefully pounding it from the backside was the only way I could get them off. I tried soaking them from weeks, heating them red hot, drenching them but it didn't help. It was only after an old foundry worker showed me how to heat the 1 little strip did it come off. By no means was it easy. I hope to never have to do it again. Check the JD board, there are some other suggestions there too.

I got mine loose by loosening the clamps, putting the bolts bakc in loose. Spraying them down with PB blaster every day, then driving the tractor around slowly for a half hour. Noticed the hub had started to move about 1/4 inch. From then, it was not a problem.

Don't go fast. Don't turn hard with a locked wheel. You can see what might happen.

use a torch, get the hub as hot as you can, then douse with water. might need to do this a few times. i broke a couple loose by banging on them with a sledge, then I was able to pull them off. your puller will work eventually. CalJim
