I have a 1954 ferguson TO30 with a large front end loader and I'm looking to replace my 6.00-16 front wheels with something wider. Anybody done this already? I know the back spacing has to be right to keep the tire off the spindle.

When you increase the offset of the tire center by using wider wheels, you will do two things: a) You will increase the strain on the spindles; and b) Make it harder to steer.

These are not good things and they get worse with a loader on the tractor.

If you are still comfortable with it, go for it.
