What is a good way of testing which of 4 plugs is a "dud"

feel the spark plugs ... the one not firing wil be much COOLER than the others ....this is best done before the engine gets up to operating tempture

I use my Inductive type timing light, the cyl it don't flash on is the bad one. If they all flash then something else is causing the miss. If your tractor doesn't have a battery just use another one to power the timing light.

With the engine running remove 1 spark plug wire at a time. When one is removed that does not make a change in the rpm's or the sound of the engine that is your dead plug. (or plug wire)

I go along with Jerry B, but use insulated pliers or youre teeth with chatter for a week, Luck.
