how do you slide pins out of brake shoes and remove shoes they seem bigger than the opening thanks john

On my B I had to remove the angle irons to be able to get the old linings out. then I pulled the clips, then the pins. I was lucky they cam out after soaking with kroil. Another tip I "invneted"; I didn't want to pay the money or do the work of putting new drums on. So, I jacked up the rear wheel and using plumbers cloth, spun the wheel with one hand while holding the grit down on the rotating drum. I have had good luck with this repair after putting it all back together. Gook luck and hope this helps.

thank you for the reply. i'm not sure i can get a drill at the same angle on the back side of pin .how did they remove them back then

The 3/8" hole I drill is at about the same angale as the punch. If the pins are nut rusted in you can remove the retaining clip and tap/pry them out using the groove.

I drill a 3/8" hole as close to center as I can guess it. I then use a punch. I used to drive them out with a hammer. I bought an air hammer with punches. I made one that would work in a 3/8" hole and with that they come out in seconds.

When the pins are out I run a 1/2" drill all the way thru.
