Riveting rear steel wheel hubs for Farmall Regular

I have a pair of rear steel for my Regular that had the center bolt hole area torched out of the plate, but the spokes are OK. I also have a set of wheels for rubber with bad rims but good center plates. I would like to cut the rivets from both sets, and re-rivet the good plates to the spokes on the steel pair. Any ideas whether this is possible to do myself? Let me know any suggestions, or if someone has attempted this before.

It would be better to grind off the back end of the rivet, even with the plate. Then drive the rivet out. You will most likely have to heat until red hot to get it to drive out. I took the lugs off my regular using a torch to cut the rivets, then driving them out. You must be very careful not to cut the wheel. It can be done, but is time consuming. I figure its cheaper to use my time than pay a shop to use theirs. Good Luck.
