My rear axle seals are apparently leaking all over my rear brake shoes. I've been told the seals need replacing. The leakage is quite obvious.

Is this something a moderately inclined home mechanic can do?

I just replaced the seals on my 1953 NAA. Wasn't difficult. My hubs came off easily - this could be a problem on some older Ford. Jump on it - seals don't cost much. Be sure to use jackstands for safety.

Yes..

Step 1,

Get a service manual at minimum.. and then a parts manual if you can swing it. The exploded diagrams help when you have a bucket of parts and are trying to figure out where everything goes...

You can buy manuals from this site..from the owners that provide this free forum to us.
