Hi everyone I need some help please. can anyone tell me anything about rod bearing shims. I bought a rebuilt c model engine and it would not turn. so I took it apart the crank has been turn it measured in rod jurnals 1.961. and bearings are 0.20 but when I plastic gauge it its show about 0.20. and it had 0.10 shims in it but the book shows 1-2 thou shims or is it ok to shim 0.20 thank you mike

Do you mean .010 .020
What motor are you working on 1.961 would be a small jurnal.
Just find out what STD was & mike it this will tell you what size bearings it will need. You cant put .010 or .020 shims in under a insert bearing!!
You have .020 clearance on a rod bearing??
I dont quite under stand what your saying, Sorry
Im missing something here.
Is this a babit brg? Not an insert?
