Is there an easy way to repair a hydraulic line when it has been crushed. The power lift still works but the larger line from the pump has been crushed nearly flat.

I had a leak on a steel line on my Cat that would have required taking the entire hydraulic tank off to repair or replace. I took a hacksaw and after carefully choosing the best places cut the bad section out so I could get the line out. Then I took all the pieces to a hydraulic hose outfit that did flaring and had the cut ends on the good line re flared and then had a hose made up to repair the bad section that also joined the two good sections of the line together. Brazing can work but isn't a guaranteed fix and can start to leak again. Maybe the line could be completely replaced with a hose? If it's the larger one it's probably for suction so you have to make sure to get suction hose so it won't collapse. Dave

you could cut out a section and braze a new section in.. or you could fix it like a trumpet player fixes his dented horn.. force steel ball bearings thru the pipe using a mallet and a wooden dowel rod..

If the pipe craks at the bend.. braze it up..
