My son picked up a MF40 several weeks back. The other day the fan belt broke and being new to this machine it doesn't look like an easy task to change. Has anyone done this or could give me some information about replacing the belt. Any help would be appreciated.

If it's like the 1100 which has the main hydro pump spun off the front of the crankshaft, you back out the four 9/16 bolts holding the drive plate to the front of the crank pulley and slide the plate forward enough to slide the belt through the gap. It helps if the grease and dirt is cleaned of the back of the pump because the bolts have recess' into which they slide in the pump in order to get the belt past.
Hopes this helps
John
