Wiring an Alternator on a TD5 crawler.

I recently fitted an alternator to my TD5 Crawler,to replace the generator system.
I need advice on wiring it up ,to get the charging system,etc working.The tractor has an Ammeter gauge,push button start switch,push button glow switch,2 headlights & a 12 volt tractor battery.The alternator has a B+ terminal,& a D+ terminal.
Any ideas on getting it wired up are appreciated..... ..Thanks,Jim.

Jim, might it be a Bosch alternator you installed ? If so the wiring diagram in this story may help.

I really just need to work out the wiring between the main components/gauges on this small diesel tractor.
The Alt I have is from a car,& has inbuilt regulator.Brand is INGRAM.

Jim, the Ingram name was a new one to me here in the US, but a Google search led me to this web site for Ashdown Ingram which is listed as an aftermarket parts company. Their site sounds like they import and distribute parts like alternators, but may not manufacture them.

Is the Ingram name cast or stamped into the alternator, or is it just a decal or adhesive tag ?

My thinking is that the alternator may be another brand or is a copy of another brand manufactured by/for Ingram. If you can find out what the brand name of the ORIGINAL alternator on that car was, then a Google search for that brand name followed by wiring diagram may produce somthing that may help.
