Sherman Backhoe Control Valve Problem

I"ve got an old 54C Sherman Backhoe and the pistons on the control valve are very worn with some pits. Anyone know if there are any repair techiques short of rechroming or replacing. They look very complicated- built in check valves and I think it would cost too much. If anyone knows repair tips or someone who might have a replacement valve that has lower hours I"d appreciate it. I"d like to keep the tractor original (I"d hate to figure out how to mount a different valve - and also I like the look of the old stuff)

Re-chrome and resize is really expen$ive. Hope you can find a decent used unit.
