I have a ford 3000 tractor with loader. My problem is, when I raise the bucket it works fine, but when I lower the bucket it jerks real bad. I am not real good with HYD. but I think its an adjustment. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Could be a bad hydraulic hose on the raise side. A flap in the hose lining shutting off the return oil and working fine when in the raise position.

Question: what type of cyl end cap does it have?
If it has a style with 3-4 small cap screws holding the end cap they may be overtightened and
need to be slightly released or realigned. Also
at our former dealership we very occassionaly ran
into a bad hyd snap coupler assy. These conditions
would allow it to raise fine but chatter when
lowered. Chuck

I am not familiar with a Ford but this problem can exist on anything. You need to adjust something that slows the rate of drop. Somewher there needs to be an adjustment or you need to buy an external flow control valve that has free flow in the other direction. That way you can control the rate of drop for different load conditions? Questions? J.

Push the lever all the way and cycle it up and down a few times and see if it gets better. Also make sure the oil level is up to proper level. If it still acts jerky, it might need new seals or something in the control valve. Hope this helps. Dave
