Hello folks,
Has anybody seen, or own a vw air-cooled tractor.
I just found one, late 60s with a 40hp. vw engine.
I'd love to buy a couple more for my boys. This one is for DAD!

I have seen a tractor in Pend Oreille County, Washington with an air cooler VW engine. The guy told me his father installed it. The tractor was such a beater I couldn't tell what make it was because I didn't have time to examine it closley.

I"d love to see a picture of that-I"ve got a couple Bugs. Dont believe I"ve ever heard of Volkswagen producing a tractor. Porsche did -sure its not a Porsche engine?? Air cooled diesel? Porsche and VW are basically the same company.

I have never seen one in a tractor,but many early models of the Melroe spra-coupe,self propelled sprayers had air cooled V dub engines. I still use a model 115 with the 1600 cc Volkswagen engine.

There is a Antique threshing club in the area that has a tiny German built self propelled combine with an air cooled Volkswagen engine. Many years ago I repowered a model 30 Cockshut tractor with a Case inline aircooled combine engine. This was a small engine ,but I only used the tractor for light chores. The belt driven axial fan cooling blower made a shrill whistle like a jet engine.
