I have a cotinental N-62 flat head and need help/guidance on how to properly adjust the tappets

I see not many have jumped on this one. I am guessing your engine has self locking adjustments,this would be evident by the tappet having two flats on it for a wrench,with a hex head at the top to turn for adjustment. If it has a lock nut in addition to the above mentioned you will be juggling three wrenches.Get the piston you are working on at top dead center ON THE COMBUSTION STROKE,adj both tappets to the required spec. till there is a slight drag on the feeler gauge. Move on to the next cyl in the firing order and repeat. I have a set of tappet wrenches that make the job easier but I doubt if you could find them anymore,I used mine on flat head fords. Another thing that helps is a "go and no go feeler gauge" but again they have faded into the past. Hope this helps. MrT
